Do you remember the “PB Max” chocolate bar? It no longer exists. Want to know why?
First, on the bottom of the candy bar was a whole wheat cookie. On top of the cookie Mars put oats and a big dollop of peanut butter. As far as nutrition facts go, it was exactly what you would expect: tons of sugar and plenty of calories! Its label read “240 calories, 5 g protein, 20 g carbohydrates, 16 g fat, and 150 mg sodium.” Its serving size was just 1 bar. The bar was very successful with earnings of $50 million in sales.
The Mars family discontinued the bar because…they had a dislike for peanut butter!
******ATTENTION******* FELLOW PB MAX FANS: The good people at Iconic Candy: https://www.facebook.com/IconicCandy are going to RETURN the PB Max Bar exactly as it was but they need your help. Here are some of their questions: 1. Describe the whole grain cookie as best you are able, How thick was the cookie? 2. What was on top of the peanut butter before the chocolate, was it pieces of the cookie, oats from the cookie or peanuts? 3. Dimensions of the bar, was it actually square. 4. Does anyone have an original wrapper (we can measure the inside). 5. Any descriptive information, requests or advice would be appreciated.
