Benefits of Seal Meat

So, let’s chew some, um, ah fat…or maybe some seal meat!  Bearded seal meat is a staple in the diet of the traditional peoples of the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands, in Alaska.

A 3 oz. cut of raw bearded seal meat has 80% of our daily Iron value.  Let’s compare that to some of the product we call “food” today.  To equal that amount of iron, you would need to consume 24 hot dogs (38 oz.), 68 chicken nuggets (48 oz.), 25 oz. of beef pot roast or 57 oz., of canned luncheon meat (pork/ham) such as Spam.

This is why today we are not as healthy as we once were…it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that most of our products aren’t as natural or healthy as they once were.
