Yesterday I had the urge to jump into the kitchen and made dessert for dinner. I had apples, pears and frozen blueberries. I had been craving apple crisp so I decided to play with this one. Here is the recipe for this delicious dessert…
Apple, Pear & Blueberry Crisp
5 medium granny smith apples, sliced (it’s what I had)
2 pears, diced
1/2 cup frozen blueberries (it’s what I had but I prefer fresh)
¾ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup quick-cooking oats
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened (I used margarine for this recipe)
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ teaspoon ground allspice
1. Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening.
2. Mix the apples, pears and blueberries together, then spread in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
