When in Hawaii, you want to taste the food the locals eat. This is where Highway Inn comes in. It is not a jazzed up restaurant but it has such a homey feel to it. The kitchen is open concept which actually brightens up the space more. The aromas are amazing and the food is even better once you receive it.
I had the spicy Ahi Tuna and it delivered. The is no fancy plating or accompaniments that might take away from this dish. Straight up spicy sauce over Ahi Tuna. That’s it. I ordered the Ahi Tacos and did not expect these two massive tacos to show up in front of me. Warning, these may make a mess and you could end up with food on you…lol! It happened to me so I know first hand how these tacos can get out of control.
You will be pleasantly surprised if you haven’t been here before. If you have, it is why you keep coming back. I will be eating here again before I have to leave this beautiful Island.
