Also, on this day in 1895 Alexandre Dumaine was born (died April 2, 1974).  One of the most decorated French chefs.  Proprietier of 3 Michelin star Hôtel de la Côte-d’Or.  Author with Henry Clos Jouve of ‘Ma Cuisnie’ (1972).

In 1902 Alexander P Anderson was issued U.S. patent No. 707,892 for “Improvements in the Art of Treating Starch Materials.” His experiments led to his creation of ‘puffed wheat’ and ‘puffed rice.’
